Airlink International UAE marks a greener milestone for its Logistics Centre

DUBAI – 01 March 2021: United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) top freight forwarder, logistics and travel provider, Airlink International UAE invests in renewable energy in partnership with SirajPower, UAE’s leading solar energy solutions provider.
With over 45 years of history, Airlink International UAE provides high quality of service in logistics and travel industry. In celebration of its legacy in the region, this initiative marks as Airlink’s first major undertaking in a better, sustainable, and greener future.
SirajPower has been appointed as a long-term partner to handle and maintain a 1.3 MWp solar rooftop plant for Airlink Logistics Centre in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA). The project covers over 2,000 solar panels that will annually produce 2.1 GWh of clean energy and offset nearly 1,500 metric tons of CO2 emissions, corresponding to approximately 6,000,000 kilometres driven by an average vehicle passenger (or equivalent to more than 24,000 tree seedlings grown for 10 years).
Maitha Juma Saif Bin Bakhit, Chairperson of Airlink, said: “As a leading local company in travel and logistics industry, we have a duty to support our government’s sustainability objectives. Our country has set ambitious targets, and we firmly believe that large local conglomerates like us can make a difference and accelerate our transition to clean energy. This project marks as our key contribution to the UAE and the world for a greener environment as we celebrate our 45 years in the market. We entrusted SirajPower, to turn Airlink’s initiative of a sustainable energy-saving and greener footprint feasible.”

Airlink contribution during the lockdown in 2020: Airlink International UAE expanded its array of logistics services to UAE in midst the COVID-19 pandemic. As Airlink has always been committed in helping the country to withstand against COVID-19 while also ascertained that company is capable to initiate a courier service, hence, Airlink has launch Airlink 24/7 Courier Services after the success of Airlink Kabayan Cargo and Airlink Dostee Cargo, door-to-door delivery services to the Philippines and India respectively.
